Steps (12)

1. 1Worker sustains or reports an injury on site, or a third party makes a personal injury or liability allegation against the contractor.
2. 2Contractor's safety manager and/or project manager formally notified of the claim.
3. 3Internal incident investigation initiated in accordance with the contractor's safety management system.
4. 4Safety manager or PM identifies which the evidence system camera(s) cover the location of the reported incident and determines the relevant time window.
5. 5cloud recordings accessed and reviewed for the relevant time period. Local recording export requested if incident parameters exceed cloud clip scope.
6. 6Footage reviewed frame-by-frame to reconstruct the exact sequence of events — worker location, task, PPE in use, prescribed protocols followed.
7. 7Key frames or clips extracted and preserved as evidence. Footage flagged for retention.
8. 8Safety manager prepares formal incident investigation report, referencing footage as supporting evidence.
9. 9Footage and investigation report provided to the contractor's insurer and, where appropriate, legal counsel.
10. 10Insurer reviews footage alongside the claim. If footage shows clear non-compliance or contradicts the claimant's account, claim is denied or renegotiated.
11. 11Where the claim involves suspected fraud, footage may be disclosed to the claimant's legal representative under formal legal proceedings.
